Today is my 43rd birthday, and Keith and the kids celebrated it in great style: Keith brought me flowers and made my favorite spinach-and-mushroom-stuffed chicken with white wine sauce. Keith baked a gluten-free chocolate cake and the kids gave me presents. Earlier in the day Kitty and Judith took me out to lunch at a fabulous little Italian restaurant, so I've had a truly lovely birthday.

About Project 365

Project 365 started in January of 2007 with about fifteen online friends from the United States and beyond who resolved to post "A Photo A Day." The goal was to learn about photography through daily practice and looking at and commenting upon each others' work.

Several devoted photographers kept going in January of 2008 while most of us resorted to less-rigorous schedules of posting our photographs. But in January of 2009, about ten (perhaps more!) of us were back in the saddle, ready to shoot, post, and learn. Most of their blog sites are listed further down the sidebar if you'd like to view their work.

I took another break for 2010 but am back for 365 for 2011 with a new Facebook group of friends, many of whom you'll find in the sidebar.

I am using a simple point-and-shoot camera, an Olympus Stylus 740. Many of my fellow photographers are using far better cameras, so the quality of my photographs will in no way equal theirs. However, I still hope to "learn to see" better this year as I jump back into Project 365.
