My favorite blog is A Holy Experience. Ann Voskamp's beautiful writing and evocative photography feed my soul in inexpressible ways.

Today she posted this snippet from her new book, A Thousand Gifts, and I thought it expresses so well why I joined the 365 Photo Project once again, despite my too-busy schedule:

A Note....

As much as I have enjoyed the 365 project, I simply do not have the time to keep up this blog on a daily basis. I will post photos as I take them, but I can not post photos daily any longer.

Thanks for understanding. I will keep this blog open and post the photos that mean the most to me as often as I can, and I hope that you will enjoy them.

Thank you for keeping up with my adventures in photography.

Short Delay

I have a new computer, and we can't load PhotoShop onto it until Keith brings it home from his office. So until then, I can't post my new photos here. But I have been taking photos and I will catch up.

It's a lovely "problem" to be having after struggling with my old laptop for so long.....

About Project 365

Project 365 started in January of 2007 with about fifteen online friends from the United States and beyond who resolved to post "A Photo A Day." The goal was to learn about photography through daily practice and looking at and commenting upon each others' work.

Several devoted photographers kept going in January of 2008 while most of us resorted to less-rigorous schedules of posting our photographs. But in January of 2009, about ten (perhaps more!) of us were back in the saddle, ready to shoot, post, and learn. Most of their blog sites are listed further down the sidebar if you'd like to view their work.

I took another break for 2010 but am back for 365 for 2011 with a new Facebook group of friends, many of whom you'll find in the sidebar.

I am using a simple point-and-shoot camera, an Olympus Stylus 740. Many of my fellow photographers are using far better cameras, so the quality of my photographs will in no way equal theirs. However, I still hope to "learn to see" better this year as I jump back into Project 365.
