Women Singers of the 1930's....

I spent part of the day downloading my new CD's onto my iPod. I love Billie Holiday, and the wonderful double-CD set included a DVD as well, plus it saved me from being charged shipping on my order. I've been listening to it all evening -- every time I close my eyes,I can almost imagine myself in a smoky nightclub.... And the Andrews Sisters are a perennial favorite -- "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" has long been a favorite. Several songs on the CD feature Bing Crosby along with the thre sisters from Minneapolis. I've been enjoying my 1930's women singers very much indeed today and am now ready for our trip up north later this week with my iPod all loaded and ready to rip. I love music from the 30's and 40's.

About Project 365

Project 365 started in January of 2007 with about fifteen online friends from the United States and beyond who resolved to post "A Photo A Day." The goal was to learn about photography through daily practice and looking at and commenting upon each others' work.

Several devoted photographers kept going in January of 2008 while most of us resorted to less-rigorous schedules of posting our photographs. But in January of 2009, about ten (perhaps more!) of us were back in the saddle, ready to shoot, post, and learn. Most of their blog sites are listed further down the sidebar if you'd like to view their work.

I took another break for 2010 but am back for 365 for 2011 with a new Facebook group of friends, many of whom you'll find in the sidebar.

I am using a simple point-and-shoot camera, an Olympus Stylus 740. Many of my fellow photographers are using far better cameras, so the quality of my photographs will in no way equal theirs. However, I still hope to "learn to see" better this year as I jump back into Project 365.
