We spent the night of the 4th at the beach to avoid the two hours of traffic following the firework displays. When we left the beach, drizzly mist was falling with temperatures in the low 70s.
Then we came home to this: 112 degrees on our front porch. And, no, it wasn't a "dry heat" as usual. Ugh!

Wow, makes me think "sticky" just imagining!
Oh dear... please tell me you at least have air conditioning! I think I'd be melting especially since you said it wasn't dry heat.
We have a window unit upstairs in our bedroom (only room in the attic), but otherwise, no air conditioning. The house actually stays fairly cool because of the stone on the east walls; it doesn't get hot until late afternoon, and then it stays in the low 80s. So it's not too bad inside. Outside is obviously a different proposition!
HOT! We have 100 degrees tomorrow. That will be our high for the year. I am glad for air conditioning and allergies that justify it in my frugal brain!
Yucky! But a "cool" picture!
