My Day's Project

I spent several hours today preparing this exhibit on our creative arts council's summer art program for tomorrow night's Art Council Meeting that will focus on our kids' programs. Myrna, our youth coordinator, will be speaking about our upcoming art contest, our art camps this summer, and the current art docent programs in our town's elementary school in which the kids have been studying Monet. We'll cap off the evening with an art project for all the council members: three-inch terra cotta pots to be painted in the Impressionst style. With the help of Keith (for printing many photos) and T (drawing the art supplies), I got this project finished in a couple of hours today. Whew ... done!

About Project 365

Project 365 started in January of 2007 with about fifteen online friends from the United States and beyond who resolved to post "A Photo A Day." The goal was to learn about photography through daily practice and looking at and commenting upon each others' work.

Several devoted photographers kept going in January of 2008 while most of us resorted to less-rigorous schedules of posting our photographs. But in January of 2009, about ten (perhaps more!) of us were back in the saddle, ready to shoot, post, and learn. Most of their blog sites are listed further down the sidebar if you'd like to view their work.

I took another break for 2010 but am back for 365 for 2011 with a new Facebook group of friends, many of whom you'll find in the sidebar.

I am using a simple point-and-shoot camera, an Olympus Stylus 740. Many of my fellow photographers are using far better cameras, so the quality of my photographs will in no way equal theirs. However, I still hope to "learn to see" better this year as I jump back into Project 365.
